GaN Charging, Built Into the Wall

Why GaN changes the maths
Gallium nitride switches faster and runs cooler than silicon at the same output, which shrinks both the transformer and the heat sink. That is what makes 65 W of USB-C possible in a wall device.
What to check before specifying
Confirm back-box depth, and avoid installing high-wattage USB devices in insulated cavities with no air path. Check whether the outlet shares its total budget across ports or delivers per port.
Planning for the next device
Power Delivery is a negotiated standard, so a device specified today keeps working with laptops and phones released later. Prefer USB-C over legacy USB-A in new work.
