Field Notes From a Villa Handover
A handover is where drawings meet plaster. These are the notes we took walking a completed villa with the contractor and the interior designer.
Heights are a design decision
Standard outlet heights disappear behind furniture that was chosen after the electrical plan was frozen. We now ask for a furniture layout before finalising the setting-out drawing.
Back boxes decide the finish quality
A plate can only sit flush if the box behind it is flush. Where boxes were set proud of the plaster line, no amount of finish quality rescued the detail.
Commission in daylight and at night
Indicator brightness that reads as subtle at noon can be distracting at midnight. Every Grazen indicator is low-glare, but circuit grouping still matters.
